Jazzalyn & Baby to be

My name is Jazzalyn and I am a first time mom to a beautiful baby boy. I am also a student at MCTC, pursuing a BA in social work. When I first found out that I was pregnant I was surprised, but also a little bit clueless to the whole new world that I would embark on. I knew the basics to raising a baby from my nieces and nephews, but never truly knew how it would be to raise a child of my own. I discovered this program through my community health worker. When I called them up and scheduled to attend the sessions it has made my life a whole lot easier. The women's center is like a refuge for women to come and get help, coaching, resources, and basic items that are needed to be successful in parenting. I am so glad that I found the women's center because without them I would be forced to seek information on my own. They are very welcoming, kind, and make sure you are prepared for the unknown. I came there a little worried about what to do for when my baby comes, but after completing the sessions and coaching I am better prepared for my son. I really enjoyed the coaching, it helped me set goals to achieve; as well as getting to know my true potential. My coach Mary also told me I could be a great coach one day. Thank you guys for helping me be the best parent that I can be!

“I am writing this to give you a little insight on how this program has helped me. First, I would like to say I am truly blessed and grateful that a program like this exists. This place has taught me so much and really helped me get prepared for my bundle of joy through the Learn and Earn Program. I talk about this program with my family and friends. I even gave back to the program by donating items that people in my family can’t use. Thank you for creating a program like this.”

“We have learned so much about parenting in this program. It is a skill that does not always come naturally. It is very important to understand baby’s cues and provide what they need as parents. I learned I should spend more time and be patient, letting my daughter explore her environment and helping her feel safe and positive. The parenting program helps me to understand this kind of information. The best thing about it is that I can keep copies of the class materials to review at any time.”

“By completing these education sessions, we earned all the essentials we will need for our baby. Included in our sessions was life coaching...which helped us to identify and strengthen our values and our boundaries.”

“We learned how to create a budget and utilize gift cards earned during education sessions at the Life Care Center for later use after the baby is born. Delayed gratification was a new awareness as well as learning to cut our expenses and save instead of spending.”

Life Care Center! Wow! This Center is such a wonderful environment for mothers to come and get the tools necessary to build foundational and positive characteristics that not only bring about a community of support from other mothers, but also lifelong lessons and key strategies to becoming better individuals for the safe of themselves and their children/family and society. The information given in this class is phenomenal, the resources provided such as diapers, gas, and grocery cards has been a tremendous blessing to our family. I am grateful for that. I highly recommend not only the Center itself but taking advantage of every opportunity that it gives.  The staff there are so kind and always ready to give you a smile and a hug if needed.

Connie and Baby Jolena

When I got pregnant with my baby, I realized I needed some resources for her. I had nothing.
When I called the Women’s Life Care Center, I found the sign up process was easy and simple. I found the staff to be friendly, professional and knowledgeable.  They helped me to know what to expect with regards to what I would be learning in the program and what I would be able to receive. In addition to the pregnancy and parenting education, I also took advantage of their Life Coaching services. Life Coaching helped me to meet my goal of becoming more organized and helped me communicate better with family. By the end of the program, I was able to earn everything I needed and felt confident and ready to have my baby. I thank God that I was able to have a resource like this and found people to support me. I would recommend this program to anyone who is expecting a baby or parenting a young child.
