Know or think you may be pregnant?

We are a medical clinic that provides limited obstetric pregnancy ultrasounds. Even if you’ve done a pregnancy test at home, an ultrasound is the most accurate way to verify if you really are pregnant.  Women’s Life Care Center offers free limited ultrasounds to give you more information so can take the next steps with your pregnancy.

Why get an ultrasound to verify your pregnancy?

Having an ultrasound is the most important next step you can take if you have a positive pregnancy test. An ultrasound is a simple, painless procedure that sends sound waves through your body to create an image. That image is used to rule out ectopic/tubal pregnancy, and to determine the gestation and viability of the fetus.

Get an ultrasound to determine how far along you are

It’s important to know how far along you might be. Many women are unsure of when they may have gotten pregnant or have irregular menstrual cycles. An ultrasound will help determine an approximate estimated due date. A high-quality ultrasound performed by one of our credentialed and knowledgeable medical professionals will provide the following benefits:

  • Verification of a viable pregnancy

  • Estimate how far along you are

  • A clinical, private setting

  • Confidential results and support

How to prepare for your ultrasound appointment

In order to perform an ultrasound, we need to have a positive pregnancy test on file. Our pregnancy testing service is free and a test will be performed at the beginning of your ultrasound appointment. You will also have a consultation with our medical staff to determine whether the ultrasound can be performed the same day or if you will need to book a follow-up appointment.

  • Drink 32oz of water 1 hour before your appointment

  • Consider inviting someone who can support you

  • Bring a photo ID

  • Think through any questions you may have relating to the ultrasound itself or your pregnancy so that you can ask our medical team during your visit.

  • Be prepared for both kinds of ultrasound probes that will be available during your appointment, the abdominal probe that goes on top of your abdomen, and the transvaginal probe, which is inserted into the vagina. All ultrasounds begin with the abdominal probe, but the transvaginal probe can be used to provide clearer images of baby in the early months.
